Collection of Materials

Having chosen the topic the researcher should start collecting the materials. The research paper is generally based  on primary, secondary resource or a combination of the two. Primary resource is the study of a subject through first hand observation and investigation such as analyzing a literary or historical text, a film or a performer, conducting a survey or interview or carrying out a laboratory experiment. Primary resources include statistical data, historical documents and works of literature or art. Secondary resource is the examination of studies that other researches have made of subject. Examples of secondary resources are books and articles about political issues, historical events, scientific debates or literary thesis.
